DAMAGES CLAIM.
DEPRECIATION OF CAR. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Friday. The fact that there is a great depreciation in the value of a new car after it has been on the road for several weeks was revealed in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when an action for damages resulting from an a?eiil»nt wa.s being heard before Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M. Plaintiff was F. H. Durbridge (Mr. W. J. King) and he claimed £127 from J. It. Hoojier (Mr. N. S. Johnson). Defendant admitted the special damages of £77, but contested the claim for £4.5 depreciation and £0 for loss of use of the car.
After evidence had been heard from both sides, the magistrate entered judgment for plaintiff for £77 as special damages and £5 for the loss of the use of the car.
