Hollywood's Spies
TALENT scouts are the secret service men of Hollywood. They are unsung through necessity. Like spies, they are not much use after their identities become known. They are Hollywood's chief source of "new faces" to-day. There are three times as many talent scouts now as there were three year* ago. More startling still, one studio claims that nearly 100 per cent of tho new players signed during the last three years were brought in by talent scouts. Casting officials name Wayne Morris, Jane Bryan. Gale Page, Gloria Dickson, and John Garfield as a few of the newcomers who arrived after talent scout surveys of plays, amateur and professional. Susan Hayward and J«n Holm were "scouted" while working as models for photographers.
