DAVIS CUP.
DOUBLES POSTPONED. DESTINY OF TROPHY. SXXGXES GAMES TO-MORROW. A cablegram received from New York this morning' states that the Davis Cup doubles in the inter-zone final between Australia and Yugoslavia has been postponed until to-day owinjc to rain. This means that the remaining two singles will be played on Sunday. Sabbath play is not uuusual in America, and the challenge round between the winner of the match in progress at Boston and the United States (holder of the cup) is fixed for September 2, 3 and 4. In the opening singles at Boston on Thursday the results were:— F. Puneec (Yugoslavia) beat J. E. Bromwich (Australia), 6—2, B—6,8 —6, ©—6, 6—2. A. K. Quist (Australia) beat D. llitic (Yugoslavia), 6—©, 6—4, fr—3.
