NEW FILM BOARD.

FOUR MAJOR FUNCTIONS. SETTLEMENT OF DISPUTES. The new Film Industry Board of internal Control, the constitution of which was announced in the "Auckland Star yesterday, has been formed bv agreement between the Film Exchanges' Association of Xew Zealand, the Xew Zealand Motion Picture Exhibitors' Association, and the Film Exhibitors' Association, and with the knowledge and approval of the Government. The functions of the board will be: (1) To act as a tribunal for the settlement of disputes arising out of the contractual relationships between renters and exhibitors. (2) To act as an advisory body on matters touching the welfare of the industry. (3) To consider any matter referred to it by the Minister of Internal Affairs or other Government authority.

(4) To arbittrate on any question submitted to it by the voluntary agreement of the parties to a dispute within the industry.

The representative of the Department of Industries and Commerce on the board will probably be Mr. G. L. O'Halloran.
