Efforts of New Zealand footwear factories to expand their production may ■have to be modified because of the financial situation, according to manufacturers. Mr. D. V. Wilson, presiddht of the New Zealand Footwear Manufacturers' Association, said to-day that the roi-ent devolpments in tlie financial situation wou'd definitely necessitate a revision of plans made by the industry for increased output. He said that in the alvewe of full details of how each unit ;n tlie industry was situated he was not in ;i position to anticipate a reduction of staffs and it was not possible at this stage to discuss that.
