JUNIOR MANAGEMENT.
The Auckland Rugby League's junior management committee met last evening, when it was explained that the playing of an extra five minutes each way in the event of a match being drawn applied to the fifth grade only. The -other grade knock-outs in progress were conducted on the full-round principle. Avondale, being in an unbeatable position, was declared the winner of the fifth grade championship. Papakura was congratulated on its success in the seventh grade knock-out competition. Ponsonby, Richmond and Point Chevalier were equal in second place. Reference was made to the sporting attitude of the Ellerslie senior B team in agreeing to postpone its knock-out fixture against Otahuhu, which was reported to be nominating for the Stallard Cup. Xorthcote teams will travel to Whanzarei on September 2. on which date three Ellerslie teams will be at Rotorua in charge of Messrs. F. Chapman and G. Whale\. Ihe board secretary, Mr. W F Clarke, was also invited to make the trip Permission was granted the Papakura third and fourth grade teams t« go to .Northland on September 9, provided byes could be arranged to suit.
