ACTOR A*D SOCIETY GIRL
NEW YORK, August 20.
The well-known swimmer and film actor, Johnny Weissmuller, was married yesterday to Miss Beryl Scott, aged 23. a San Francisco society girl, at 1.25 a.m. This unconventional hour was chosen because Weissmuller is performin;* at the New York World's Fair. He obtained a divorce from Lupe Velez a few days ago.
The wedding was held at Garfield, New Jersey, two ceremonies being performed, one upstairs, by a clergyman to please the bride, and the other downstairs by the Mayor to please the newsreel photographers.
