In a desperate struggle with two young men who attempted an armed hold-up at a service station at a late hour to-night. Mr. Albert Arthur Wilson suffered head wounds necessitating medical attention and a number of stitches. Mr. \\ ilson, who was alone in the office, answered the door to find two young men standing in the yard outside. One suddenly produced a revolver, saying: "This is a stick-up. We want your cash."

Mr. Wilson was forced back into his office and was told to unlock the drawwr which contained the till.

One of the men struck him over the head with a blunt instrument when he endeavoured to gain possession of the revolver.

In a desperate struggle which ensued the office was almost completely wrecked inside. Mr. Wilson dragged the men into the yard, at the same time calling loudly for help. The men eventually broke free, leaving Mr. Wilson on the ground. Cash from the till was taken. All available detectives and constables were summoned and an extensive manhunt was begun.
