MAN IN HOSPITAL.

INJURIES NOT SERIOUS

Found wandering along Lorne Street in a dazed and distressed condition, with a wound above one eye and facial abrasions, Mr. Hugh Twidle, aged 47, of Glen Eden, was admitted to the Auck-i land Hospital after receiving treatment lat the St. John Ambulance station, .where he was taken by two men. | It is alleged that he was joined by three unknown men at the corner of Lorne and Rutland Streets shortly after p o'clock last night and later assaulted. Several blows on the head and face rendered him unconscious. Half an hour later lie was discovered staggering from I side to side in Lome Street, suffering from concussion.

To-day Mr. Twidle's condition was quite satisfactory. His injuries are not serious.
