"That suits me to a T." Draftsmen and drawers use a T-square, a ruler with a cross piece, in their work. The T-square is not used so much to measure distance as to construct perpendiculars. As the T-square is made with exact right angles, the phrase "fit to a. T" means to fit perfectly.
