A Dublin barrister, Mr. Thomas Powell, standing on a cart accompanied l>y 4ive depertees from England, addressed a large crowd. He warned Britain to halt the deporting of Irishmen, and said: "If she does not, we will retaliate and expel Englishmen from Eire. • "The campaign in England will be intensified. If Mr. Chamberlain wants it to finish he must negotiate with Sean Russell (tho Irish Republican Army leader) and not with Mr. de Valera." Scotland Yard frustrated a plot to rescue a leading member of the Irish Republican Army from Chelmsford gaol following warnings from an ex-convict of an attempt that would be made to help him to escape. The Home Secretary. Sir Samuel Home, made six more orders under the Prevention of Violence Act uininst I.R.A. suspects, bringing the total to HO, shvs a British official wireless mesnage. In one case whore an expulsion order had been made, the man had left the country In-fore it could be executed, and a prohibiting order against, his re-entering England has been substituted. The other five are expulsion orders. It is reported that the Dublin police to-day carried out a series of raids on the houses of persons believed to be associated with the I.R.A. BOMB DUMP BLAST? EXPLOSION NEAR COVENTRY. Independent Cnble Service. (Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, August 14. A shed in a vacant allotment, believedly an I.R.A. bomb dump, was demolished by a terrific explosion near Coventry. Neighbouring houses were rocked and hundreds of windows were chattered. Three mea and two girls were seen running from the shed juet prior to the explosion.
