Australian Tree Fruits. According to latest advices received from the Commonwealth Dried Fruit Control Board they advise an advance in seeded lexiae, both 12oz and 16oz cartons, of 6d per dozen on the f.o.b. basis. Bulk shows a corresponding advance of about 3/ per hundredweight. All business is strictly subject to confirmation, as stocks are said to be particularly light in Australia. Pineapples. According to shippers' advice last week quotations for Singapore pineapples have eh own a firming tendency, and indications are that the market will go still higher. A certain amount of business was dono before the increase both for prompt an'd forward shipment. Tapioca. Tlie market for tapioca, both in Penang seed and medium pearl, showe a slight increase in comparison with the previou6 week's quotations. Flake tapioca remains unchanged. This market has been particularly short of certain types, but the arrival oi the Eastern steamer yesterday will enable merchants to satisfy normal requirements. Scotch Sild. New season's priens for Scotch sikl have been maintained, with quotations practically on the samp basis as Lost year. Shipment is offered for both prompt and forward delivery. Business is being accepted subject to a "fall clause," which will operate up to time of shipment , . Imports of sild have been cut 100 per cent, and ■the only opportunity of importing will be | if buyers can utilise funds in London. Coconut. The market for desiccated coconut has shown an easier tendency during the past week. Quotations are particularly attractive, and further business is going forward ; for prompt shipment. Eastern Steamer. • The Dutc-li pteamer Maetauvokev arrived from Singapore yesterday 'wit'h all Eastern products, such as rice, kapok, sago, tapioca, peanut kernels, nutmegs, mace, pepper, etc. Quite a number of these lines have been in very short supply, and this arrival is therefore very welcome. White Lead. English white lead registered an advance during the last , week for both prompt and forward shipment. Walnuts. All cheaper grades of walnuts are now withdrawn, and shippers advise remaining stocks in any better grades previously available are practically exhausted. Califomian walnuts have become increasingly popular in recent years on account of the excellent grading sysfem in California. Brazil Nuts. The market for shelled Brazil nuts, according to latest cable?, still shows a declining tendency, last week's rates being listed at a. further reduction of Md per lb. Rice Meal.
