SOUTHERN WRESTLING.
McCREADY BEATS COX. BOESCH STARTS ''NINTH" ROUND. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. Gruelling rather than spectacular wrestling in the Town " Hall to-night resulted in McCready, British Empire champion, beating Cox by a single fall taken with a step-over toehold in the fifth round. A Dunedin message states that the diequalification of Forster for punching Boeseh in the eighth round of a match there brought to a sudden end the liveliest wrestling bout seen in Dunedin this season. Forster scored a fall in the fourth round with a monkey shake and a body press, Boeseh equalising in the seventh with a body press following dropkicks. In the eighth Forster, who had repeatedly been warned for punching, repeated these tactics, and was scut to his corner, the referee awarding the decision to hie opponent. Not .satisfied with success, Boeseh renewed hostilities after the conclusion of the bout, arid the police had to step in and stop what looked like being a hectic ninth round. I'orster weighed 16.10 and Boeseh turned !ie scales at 16.4.
