TROOPS ABOVE STRENGTH.
SCOUTS IN WAKATO. (From Our Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. "The roll has grown from 301 to 358. and that number could have been doubled had sufficient ecouters been available," said Mr. S. X. Ziman, district commissioner, at the annual conference of Waikato district scouts in Hamilton. Mr. X. S. Johnson, chairman of the executive, presided. Mr. Zinran described the year as a most successful one. Some of the troops were far above strength, and still had a waiting list. The increased interest was attributeed largely to the forthcoming Centennial jamboree, to which Waikato would be sending 74 per cent of its scouts. The following were elected to the district committee:—Messrs. X. S. Johnson (chairmen), A. L. Tompkins, W. H. Allen, R. D. McFarland and G. I. Clark (secretary).
