SMITH SCORES BETTER TH4N PELHAII, A Murray, as was expectfKl, carried off the honours at the open day for professionals and amateurs at Maungakiekie yesterday, but two of the amateurs I* G F Smith (Akarana) and .7. Pelham. the outstaying player at the Hill, ran him fairly flosely. I lie conditions were difficult, a strong southerly wind being accompanied ■mi 1 ! I 1", storms. In the afternoon only It, holes were played, as the conditions had delayed the field. ~ round in the morning was pJnumti 7'J, wliifh was two strokes better "Hi" Murray, and three better than Smith.
