BRITISH PURCHASES?

The Ministry of Supply issued the following statement regarding reports which recently appeared in the Press about the purchase by the Government of arms from the Skoda factory: "The Ministry has tio knowledge that any •rdcrs were placed with the Skoda factory.
Certain small armament contracts were, however, placed about 18 months ago with two private Arms in Czechoslovakia and, deliveries, some of which havo been made since the German occupation, have now been almost completed. No further orders arc contemplated.
