Mr. F. A. Hellaliy returned from Wellington this morning by the Limited. Mr. W. H. tiummcr will leave for Wellington by express to-morrpw evening. Mr. .T. Purtell will be a passenger for the ' South by to-morrow evening's express. Mr. R. P. Towle was a pasenger by the Limited express, from Wellington this morning. Mr. B. E. H. Whitcombe. of Christchurch. returned yesterday afternoon by train to the South. Dr. A. D. Trendall. of Trinity College, Cambridge, returned to Auckland yesterday from Wellington.

Mr. W. F. Bull, Canadian Trade Commissioner. will leave to-morrow evening by the Limited for Wellington. Mr. W. C. Barry, director of the livestock division. Department of Agriculture, is on a visit to Auckland. Canon G. Nelliam Watson, formerly vicar of Opawa, Christchurch, is to be inducted as vicar of Rangiora this evening. The Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, M.P., arrived from Wellington by train yesterday and proceeded to his home at Matakohe. Messrs. J. E. Thomas. H. C. Beuke. K. J. Holyoake, S. O'Harit and B. T. Rowling have been appointed a* members of the Hop Marketing Committee. Messrs. F. W. Schramm, C. R. Petrie, A. S. Richards, A. G. Oshorne, W. C. Denham and W. P. Endean, M.P.'s, arrived from the South by train this morning. Mr. »S. W. Gaspar has been elected a member of the Government Railways Superannuation Fund Board, representing the second division. He is succeeding Mr. E. J. Dash. Sir George Troup has retired from the board of diiectors of the Wellington Investment Trustee and Affency Company, Ltd. In 1925 Sir George" first joined the board, and for many vears was deputy-chairman. 111-health' has brought about his retirement.
