COMMERCE CHAMBERS' VIEW. Concerned by New Zealand's "relatively meagre population." the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce has -urged 011 the Government the advisability of setting up a committee to thoroughly investigate the'matter. This information was received in a letter from the Associated Chambers by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce to-day. The committee, the letter added, would be inclusive of representatives of the Government and interested organisations, and would submit recommendations to the Government concerning the improvement of the birthrate and the alisorption into the country of suitable im migrants.
