NOT WORTH WAR.

SOLVE DANZIG ISSUE.

Italian Official Journal In Milder Tone. NAZI MILITARY STRENGTH. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, July 30. The official Italian journal, "International Relations," insisting on Germany's right to Danzig in a milder tone than usual, says it is necessary to have faith in totalitarian Powers. If this is lacking the only result can be war.

It is not for Italy and Germany, but for Britain and France to decide whether Germany's rights can be settled by war. Financial proposals will be inexorably rejected. The paper adds that recognition of Germany's right to Danzig is absolutely not worth war, and for this reason the Poles should not be stubborn. An Independent Cable Service message from Warsaw states that unofficial estimates of the militarisation of Danzig place the number of Nazis under arms in the city at 25,000. The total in the whole of the Free City area of 475 square miles, containing towns and villages, is 60,000.

Because of Nazi hindrances and obstructions Polish Customs officials are finding it most difficult to supervise imports into Danzig, resulting in heavy loss to Poland. Diplomatic circles declare that Poland must take action if the activities of Storm Troopers on + b« wharves is not stopped. Unless this is done soon Danzig will become completely Nazified.
