Merle Oberon Is House Hunting

BACK from a two-day honeymoon, Merle Oberon, now Mrs. Alexander Korda, went house hunting in Buckinghamshire. Merle has had a flat near Regent's Park, London, for several years. She lias also had a home in Hollywood and a luxurious Oalifornian beach home. What she wants now is a neat, tuckedaway home in England where she and her busy nusband can enjoy peace and privacy. It must be furnished, with at least 10 bedrooms, a large garden with lots of flowers, but "positively no swimming pool."

"We don't want anything on what people call the Hollywood scale," Merle said. "I want a typical well-planned English country house with not too large grounds. "Ten bedrooms are not too many— Alex does a good deal of work at home and he needs a biggish suite so that he is cut off from the noise of the household generally. "I have a lot of work to do at home, too, even when I do not have to go near a studio. Although we are not going to entertain on a big scale, we must have guest accommodation."
