ASSASSINATION PLOT.
PRESIDENT OF SYRIA SAVED. (Received 12.30 p.m.) DAMASCUS, July 26. Swift arrests thwarted a plot to assassinate the Syrian President, Hashem Bek el Atassy, who has held this position since his election by the Legislature in 1030 under the newly granted Constitution of 1930. His term is for five years.
