INFLUENCE IN DENMARK. i ADDRESS TO Y.M.C.A. CLUB. "All too frequently in recent years Denmark lies been found playing into the hands of Fascism, rather than supporting -the common cause of the democracies,' , said Mr. Prescott Jensen, in an address to the Y.M.C.A International Club last 11 i;" t. Mr. Jensen was born in Denmark and came to Xew Zealand as an infant. He recently visited his birthplace. ''Not only in international affairs do?s the Xazi grip on Denmark manifest itself,' , he added. '"German influences reach deeply into practically every ■sphere of Danish life and administration. Constant pressure from the German Legation in Copenhagen, combined with the lasting- effects of Privs campaigns, has gradually reduced the Danish Government to a state of semi-vassalage, in which it no longer dares to rule the country according to its own principles of liberalism and democracy."
Mr. Jensen dealt withh many phases of Danish life. He stated that there were no poor and the people seemed perfectly contented. Wages were high.
