WELL-BRED YOUNGSTERS. H. SCALLY'S TEAM. H. Seally is getting (luite a string together, the latest addition being the Laekluim—Koyal Queen chestnut gelding Diamond Cutter. This sprinter has been acquired I? Mr. A. McMillian, a patron ot the stable, who also races Amorosa. Diamond CulU-r should prove useful round the J'aianaki district. Though unsuccessful in winning, Viracioius and Disturbed with their placed performances helped materially towards H. Seally's expenses for the T'rentham trip. Viracious ran exceptionally good races, and if taken to the Rangiti'kei fixture will have to be seriously considered in hie engagement. Disturbed ran a great race, but was not quite good enough. However, lie should soon make amends, and a win in less select company eeems assured. Having recovered from the injury that prevented his attendance at the Wellington meeting, Student Prince is again working regularly on the local tracks. Considerable interest is being taken in the progress made by the rising two-year-olds in work here. A real nice type is Radio Call, by (raiiwourt—(juiiwy, under L. George's care. This colt moves particularly •well in his work and gives the impression that he ■will .be a useful sort. Mr. Frank Walker's youngster, Barry Boy, by Hunting Song—Lady Whirlwind, is being sent along more seriously and recently acquitted 'himself satisfactorily in a sprint with Red Myosotis, by Myosotis—Rawene, and a filly by Rulanut. Barry Boy leans to the Hunting Song type and he and Red Myosotis are both ■well-grown youngsters whose progress will attract attention from now on. That one-time good performer Pouiua has in her three-year old daughter, by Xiglit Fox, a replica of 'herself that is likely to keep her memory green, as she is .built on \cvy speedy lines. The full-brother to' Indian Sun. by Bulandshai Sunbar. in H. SeallyV; stable always attracts atention when exercised by his smooth action, and big things are expected from this youngster later on. The rising three-year-old Race Away has benefited by his spell ami has developed into a typical son o: Acre. He is expected to contribute hifi share to L. George's i«take earnings during the coming season. Professional is working along solidly and will probably be given another opportunity to make good at the Marton Meeting. Continued improvement can be expected from the maiden Gitalin Lass, v.ho figures in the Maiden Race at Marton. She will carry local support if started. Winsome Lu has been doing steady work fo" some time now and is expected to start in -the open seven furlongs event at Marton. Her stable-mate, Race Away, figures in the Maiden at the jam? meeting.
