LABOUR PARTY.
OTAHUHU BRANCH. Despite the inclement weather quite a number nf enthusiastic members of the women's group of the Otahuhu branch of the Labour party attended the July meeting. Extracts from the books "Between Two Wars" and the "New Zealand Educational Journal" were read and discussed by Mrs. Barrington. After questions had been answered Mrs. Jones, the president, thanked the speaker for her talk. TAKAPUNA BRANCH. The Takapuna women's group of the New Zealand Labour party held a meeting this week to hear Mr. W. J. Lyon, member for Waitemata, speak on the medical services and maternity under the Social Security Act. There was a good attendance and the speaker was thanked for all the explanations relating to the Act. MOUNT ALBERT WOMEN. Mrs. E. S. Griffin, president of the Mount Albert women's branch of the New Zealand Labour party, presided over a large attendance of members at their fortnightly mooting held at Mount Albeit. Several new members were welcomed. Mr. L. W. Holt was the spenker for the afternoon. Among other things he explained the operation of the banking system in connection with London funds. Discussion followed and Mr. Holt explained in detail points upou which members were not clear.
