GIRLS' LIFE BRIGADE.

DRIVE FOR FUNDS. WHO WILL HEAD LIST. Which, company will raise the largest amount of money for the Girls' Life Brigade? Though this special week, when each company competes in the endeavour to raise funds, is now over, the Dominion treasurer. Miss M. Findley. is still counting the money that is rolling in. Each company is entitled to half the money raised, the other halt going to the Dominion funds. So far the Ist Rotorua company (Methodist) has done well oy raising £27. The highest tally in Auckland is that of the 10th Auckland company (Baptist Tabernacle) with £15 1/4. Who will head the list for New Zealand? The result is being followed with enthusiastic interest. Officers of the Auckland division were pleased to note in the bulletin that the Dunedin battalion had held its first officers' training week-end camp, when 20 G.L.B. enthusiasts were present, representing nine companies. The instruction given during the week-end was in the form of knot-tying, practical company drill end ceremonial, and an address on the' art of story telling. A similar officers' training week-end has been undertaken for the last three years in Auckland during May, and the resulting comradeship has been enjoyed by ail those who attended. Annual Camp Preparations. The camp committee of the Auckland division met during the week and preparations are now in hand for the annual camp, which is to be held from December 2<> to January 2. Four previous camps have been held. The first was attended by a dozen girls, while last Christmas there was an attendance of 80 girls, including three brigadiers from the Jst Rotorua company. To celebrate the coming Kew Zealand Centennial Auckland will hold a provincial camp this Christmas, which will be attended by brigadiers in the country districts. i A letter has been received from Sister Dorothy Pointon, who states that sh? has started a Maori company at Otorolianga. Miss Pointon was formerly * captain in the sth Auckland company (Methodist) and left two years ago to take up deaconess training at the Methodist College in Christehurch. A letter was also received from headquarters in London conveying congratulations to the Auckland division, which is the first to be formed in any part of the Empire, exclusive of Great Britain.
