BURSARIES SCHEME.
YOUNG FARMERS , CLUBS. £.300 GRANT RECOMMENDED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Addressing the annual meeting of the New Zealand Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs, the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, said the awarding of bursaries to deserving young farmer* was lx>innr considered. The retiring president. Mr. Alan Riant, suid there were now 201 clubs with a membership rtf well over r>ooo. The director of the Field*" Division of the Department of Agriculture, Mr. R. 1!. Tennent, said a Government grant of £500 had been recommended for the ensuing year. The meeting decided that a deputation wait on the Minister of Defence urging compulsory military training. Officers elected were:—President, Mr. E. W. Uarnett (Halcombe); vice-president, Mr. D. F. Coleman (Amberley).
