CONSCRIPT FEMALE LABOUR.
LONDON, June 28. An experiment to discover the extent to which conscripted female labour could replace skilled labour in munition works has failed in Hanover, says the Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph." Women of all social classes were ordered to muster at 5 a.m., with the exception of mothers of small children, and were paid 5Ad an hour. The conscripted middle-aged wives of„ army officers jind professional men proved inept, even in the early and less technical stages of tb» work.
