COMPLAINT MADE.

DAIRY WORKERS' DISPUTE.

MATTER SUB JUDICE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The publication of remarks made at the recent National Dairy Conference "as commented on when the Conciliation Council, considering the dairy factory employees' dispute, resumed today after haying previously met in May. On behalf of the workers, Mr J Koberts complained of statement* at the JJairy Conference about the workers' demands, saying that the law relating to industrial disputes was flouted. As the dispute was sub judice the workers objected strongly to statements that they were "making preposterous and unreasonable demands and going to the Arbitration Court every week," because that sort of thing prejudiced their case I hey expected the dispute to be settled in the ordinary way without politics. •j J - ?■ , Blsho P> f or the employers, said that when he saw some of the -National Dairy Conference proceeding reported in the Press he thought there had been something dangerously near an infringement of the law.

The commissioner, Mr. M. J. Reardon said it had been reported that the dairy conference would go to the Minister It was hardly likely that the Minister would intervene, no matter what the nature of the protest. Discussing award demands, Mb Roberts said the workers suggested that in all cases of incorrect booking of time worked a joint report should be forwarded to the head offices of the employers' and the workers' organisations and also to the inspector of awards. On behalf of the employers, Mr. Bishop agreed that lorry drivers employed at dairy factories on Saturdays and Sundays should receive the same rates of pay as factory workers. The discussion was adjourned.
