VICTORY DANCE.
HAURAKI HOCKEY ASSOCIATION.
A dance was held in the Waitakaruru Hall recently. The function wa» organised by the ladies of the district to welcome the return of the victorious Hauraki Plains girls' hockey team which was successful in winning the Auckland Provincial Cup.
Mr. L. McDonald, the president of the Hockey Association, outlined the history of the game on the Plains and after complimenting the girls on their meritorious win appealed to the people for their hearty and enthusiastic support. Mr. T. Elliott, a past selector, also sjioke and said that he was proud to see the girls carry off the honours of the season. Mr. Murray Hill made an efficient master of ceremonies.
