INVASION FEARED.

DUTCH PEOPLE'S DREAD.

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON", Thursday. There had been so great a fear of Germany crossing the frontier of Holland that on one Sunday in the earlier part of this year the whole male population was called on to assist in the construction of frontier fortifications, *aid the Rev. E. E. Davids, a Dutch Catholic priest, who arrived at Wellington by the Rangitiki to-day. Father Davids said there was acute fear in Holland of Germany crossing her territory in the event of a European war. Father Davids has been engaged in missionary work since 1916. He went to the Cook Islands in 1926 and has been there ever since, with the exception of a holiday in his homeland, from which he is just returning.
