With few horses likelv to race next month, the racing season, as far as Hawera-trained horses are concerned, has practically ended and trainers are giving attention to members of their teams intended lor early spring racing. The season just concluding has li-en a disappointing' one for the Hawera centre, few races ol any importance falling to our horses. The Myosotis—Bright Shade filly has grown into a fine-looking filly and Btoiigh has high holies of her being able to stay out a journey as well as go fast. Bright Shade, tlie dam, is a half-sister to Taraiicke, who produced Martara. The filly will race as Bidens. The ex-Hawera trainer T. Fryer reports that his Kincardine youngster. Gold Card, has done splendidly and is in tine condition. Fryer is getting the hunjer Bimbo ready for the combined hunt meetings at Xew Plymouth. Golden Orchid is at present spelling, but is to come in next week. J. Brown has Xotium in fine fettle, while Student Prince, who went amiss recently, iias practically recovered and is looking bright and well. The rising three-year-old Valdotte looks a picture and should come to hand as early as required. Ho can be ticked off as a very likely prospect when started.
