N.Z. RUGBY LEAGUE.
"FOREIGN" TOUR DECISIONS. INTER-ISLAND REPLACEMENTS. Acting on a cable communication of inquiry from the secretary of the English Rugby League, Mr. John Wilson, the New Zealand Council last evening decided that the residential headquarters of the NewZealand team in England will be at Beechwood House, Harrogate, near Leeds. The cablegram also referred to the itinerary of the team in France following the last match in England on December 16. The New Zealand secretary, Mr. W. 0. Carlaw, expressed the opinion that it would be unwise at this stage to make any definite arrangements for such itinerary. The matter of a reply to the cablegram was left in Mr. Carlaw's hands. After some discussion it was decided that in the North v. South Island match at Carlaw Park on July 8, replacements be allowed until the start of the second spell. Further grants were made to the Taranaki ayd Northland Leagues to participate in the trial match on July 1 at Carlaw Park. Transfers approved: W. Pitman (Whangarei) to City Rovers (Auckland); and S. Thomassen, Portland (Whangarei), to Mount Albert (Auckland).
