NEW ZEALAND TRIAL.
CARLAW PARK, JUNE 24. TARANAKI ASD NORTHLAND. At last night's meeting of the control board of the Auckland Rugby League a grant from the board for the Northland v " Taranakl New Zealand trial match, at I Auckland ou June 24, was acknowledged by I the National Council. In this connection the S-tratford Club, of Taranakl, also thanked I the board. Its letter stated that It had 10 I representatives in the Taranakl trial. The successful visits of the Newton and Papakura Clubs to Whangarei recently [ were the subject of a letter of appreciation from the Northland Rugby League, which reported that good progress was being made in the district. In the curtain-raiser at Carlaw Park last Saturday, Hadley (Richmond) and Quirke (Newton) were ordered off. and. after evidence was taken in committee, both players were suspended for one playing Saturdav. Dealing with player-insurance matters the secretary. Mr. Ivan Culpan. reported on a case which occurred on Monday. It was resolved that injured plavers no't obeving the doctor's instructions would forfeit rights under any of the insurance scheme* Registrations. — J. Herbert (Newton Rangers). A.
