FLYING PELLETS
COMPLAINTS RECEIVED. (By Telp^raph.—Own Corrospnndent.) CHRTSTCHT.-KCH. this day. Complaints of the dancer from flyin-j pellets as a result of shooting by youths at Waimairi Beach have been inade liy men emjilovod on marram ]>lantin-j work on the seashore, north of the Wafniairi Surf Club pavilion. These complaints have been made to the president of the Waimairi Beach Progress Leapue (Mr. P. L. E. Broad), who lias placed the matter in the hands of tlie police. Mr. Broad said this morning that in addition to the eotuplainls mentioned. he had to report further vandalism at Waimairi Beach. Over an area a chain lonjr and half a chain deep marram L r ra*s planted by subsidised labour had "been pulled out. Such an action was most regrettable as the marram gra.ss formed part of the extensive sand fixation scheme that was being carried out along the beach northwards to the Wairuaka" riri.
