TOUR TRIALS.
LEAGUE COUNCIL'S BUSY TASK
The council of the New Zealand RugbyLeague last evening, after giving consideration to the equipment of the team to leave for England in July, finalised details for the Dominion trials, which will culminate in the inter-island match at Auckland on July 8.
It wa« announced that the 15 members of the South Island team would arrive on July b and the North Island team will assemble the next day. Emergency players will appear in the A and B trial curtainraiser. Therefore, there will be no replacements for the inter-island game.
Following a report from the Wellington Rugby League on the match between Wellington and South Auckland, fixed for July 1, it was decided to send a letter to the Wellington City Council regretting that it hail not agreed to allow the use of the Baniu Reserve for this trial match for the selection of the New Zealand team.
Correspondence from the Canterbury Rugby League showed that greatly improved attendances were the order at Christchurch and in view of the interest being taken in the A and B trial there on July 1, it was suggested that this Canterbury v. Combined West Coast match be played at Sydenham Park rather than at Monica. Park. Arrangements were suggested to the South Island Leagues for the fixture.
Inangahua is» to play Wwt Coast in an inter-provincial trial on June 11.
Transfers approved.—Jack O'Brien, from South Auckland to Auckland, and M. Pitman, from Northland to Auckland.
Reinstatements. — J. Little and J. C Harris, of Auckland.
