No Problem That Cannot Be
Solved Peacefully.
JAPAN AND NEW PACT.
(Received 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 22. Herr von Ribbentrop and Count Ciano issued a statement to the foreign Press after the signing of the alliance, saying that it was designed to maintain European peace.
There was not a single problem that could not be solved peacefully, or any reasons justifying war in Europe which should develop into a world-wide conflict.
The statement added that Italy and ("lermany were determined not to recede a single step, to face threats and defend their rights at all costs. Herr Hitler and Signer Mussolini and King Victor Knimauuel exchanged congratulatory telegrams.
A Tokyo message reports that the Foreign Office spokesman said the pact was a great contribution to peace, and Japan was glad of it. Her relations with the Axis were bound up in the closest collaboration in the spirit of the antiComintern Pact. v

H is oiticially stated that Sir l Frederick Leith-Koss. chief economic adviser to the British Government, is returning from Greece after a discussion on the question of export credit guarantees. The Greek Government is sending a representative to London "to conclude the arrangement." -
