Jockeys B. Carslaka and champion Gordon Richards had a battle of wits in the Bunvcll Stakes at Newmarket on May 0 a London cable to a Sydney newspaper). Honours rested with the veteran exAustralian, who scorad by quick thinking. Richards was riding Foxglove 11., and led into the straight, but went over to the far side of the course, knowing that Scottish Union, Carslake's mount, was disinclined to do his best if left out by himself.
