ARABS OPPOSE.
EGYPT'S DECISION. Government Cannot Recommend Acceptance. "ONLY VAGUE PROMISES." United Press Association.—Copyright. (Received 10 a.m.) CAIRO, May 18. The Government has notified Britain that it is unable to recommend the Arabs to accept the White Paper. Egypt thus joins Saudi Arabia and Iraq in disapproval of the policy. The Higher Arab Committee will meet at Beyreuth. the Mufti presiding, to determine future action. The Wafdist Press describes the White Paper as evasive, and says it contains no advantages for the Arabs, and onlV vague promises, conditional on restoration of order. The Prime Minister of Egypt. Mohamed Pasha Malimud, issued a statement that all Arab countries were opposed to the Palestine plan. He added that negotiations with Britain had ended.
