MATERNITY SCHEME.
CONTRACTS ACCEPTED. HOSPITALS AND NURSES. ADDITIOXS MADE TO lUT. (By Telegraph—Pres» Association.) WEIfLUT GTOSf, Thursday. The Department of Health announces that since the publication of the list of acceptances of contracts in connection with the maternity benefits the following additions have been made: — Private Maternity Hospitals.—Sixteen names have been added, one at Morrinsv i He. Wairoa, Wanganui, Pahiatna, Motueka, Murchison, Waimate, Denniston and Wellington, two at Gi6bome and Balclutha, and three at> Te Aroha. Obstetric Nurses.—Seventeen names have been added, one at each of the following places: Reinnera, Mission Bay, Te Awamutu, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Foxton, Patea, Wanganui, Timaru, Mos.aiel and Christchurch, two at Grey Lynn, Levin and Lower Hutt. Every private maternity hospital in both Taranaki and Wellington health districts i« now included in the list of hospital* that have sijjned the contract. Particulars are being circulated to post offices for addition to the lists. Arrangements have been completed to ensure expeditious payment, and obstetric nurses and licensees of private hospital* are in a position to receive payment from the Social Security Fund promptly after the conclusion of their services. Consideration has also been "riven to representations made on behalf of obstetric nurses who attend patients on a visiting basis, and it has been decided that as from May 18. 1930, a sum of 5/ a day will be paid for each of the 14 days subsequent to the date of the birth of a child, instead of •>/ a day for three j days and 2/6 a day for 11 days.
