Mr. A. Maltby leaves for Wellington by the early train this afternoon. Mr. D. A. Ewen, of Wellington, will sail in the Monowai for Vancouver tomorrow. Mr. S. F. Brooke-Taylor will leave for Wellington by the Limited express this evening. Mr. A. M. P. Hall, assistant town clerk in Mount Albert, has been appointed town clerk at Taihape. Mr. R. H. Ximmo has left Wellington for Rotorua, whore he will undergo a month's hospital treatment. Mr. W. J. Dyment, New. Zealand representative of the Canadian National Railways, will sail for Vancouver tomorrow in the Monowai. Mr. A. M. Rosie* of the Principal Stores Division, Chief Post Office, Wellington, has been appointed deputy-chief postmaster in Auckland. Mr. H. A. Parkinson, or Wellington, who was secretary of the New Zealand Educational Institute from 1911 to 1933, has been elected a life member of the institute. Major R. G. Byron, military secretary to Lord Galway, arrived from Wellington by the Limited express this morning. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason arrived in Auckland by the Limited express this morning and is to return to Wellington to-nijht. Mr. A. W. Croskery, secretary of the New Zealand Shop Assistants' Federation, will leave Wellington in about a month for Australia, to inquire into Shops and Offices Act and other industrial legislation, visiting Tasmania, South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., and Mrs. Salmon, of Wanganu?, leave Wellington for Sydney in the Awatea to-morrow. They intend to motor through Queensland and then visit California. During Mr. Salmon's absence Mr. J. G. L. Hewitt, S.M., will be relieving magistrate at Wanganui for a few weeks, and then the duties will be carried on by Mr. A. Coleman, who is now engaged on Court of Review work. The Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, Bishop of Wellington, has returned to Wellington from Marton, where he attended the school for Anglican clergy. ' The sailing date of the Akaroa, on which the bishop, accompanied by Mrs. Holland and Miss K. B. Robson, is to leave, from ' Auckland on a health trip to England, has been postponed from May 19 to May 24. His lordship will leave Wellington for Auckland on the evening of May 22.
