SEQUEL TO THREATS.
Big Fire In Army Ordnance Depot. REPORTS OF DAMAGE DIFFER. Independent Cable Service. (Received 10.30 a.m.) fjONDON, May 10. Following anonymous threats received, at a Royal Air Force station nearby, a big fire at the Army Ordnance Depot near Nottingham last night destroyed many light motor vehicles and tyres. The depot is one of the chief distributing centres of Army cars. The Australian Associated Press, in a later message, says the petrol tanks burst and one large shed ■was destroyed, but the other was saved. It is officially stated that no vehicles were damaged, and that a large number of tyree ■was saved. A soldier has been remanded on a charge of setting fire to the building, states a subsequent message.
