SALE AT COLOMBO. At the usual weekly sale of Ceylon tea held at Colombo on May 9 the quantity plac.'d under offer amounted to 2,375.0001b. Quality showed a considerable decline, with most offerings of plain liquor. At the sale there was a {food demand, with the market generally unchanged, but the sale closed at elijrhtly easier rate*, especially for medium sorts. Actual price alterations showed a fiVm market, on Commons and Price Broken Orange I'ckoes. a reduction of Vm\ per lb (-n plain U.O.P.'s. unchanged rate* on first (■!a«sic Uroken Pekoes and a reduction ot per lb on fine Broken Orange Pekoes, Next week's sale is expected to amount to 2,75(1,0001 b.
