TAMAKI WEST PARISH. " DEVELOPMENT OF ORAKEI. •General progress in tlio parish of Tamaki West wns reported at the annual meeting of parishioners. The Res-. L. E. Cartridge, vicar, presided. Developments during the "year were the transfer of the Orakei district from St. Aidan's to tlie Tamaki parish, the appointment of a curate, the Rev. W. H. Beech, the completion of a comprehensive grounds improvement scheme at St Philip , * Church, St. Hdier's, and the* expansion of tho envelope system of church offering. It was reported that total offertories had amounted to £413, compared with £2:58 the previous year. The finances of the church had shown an all-round increase, reflecting the larger attendances. The parish debt had been reduced to £82,5, and the mission and central fund quotas had heen exceeded. Reference was made to the needs of the Mission Bay and Orakei areas, where the question of church accommodation had been under consideration. The vicar said the number of communicants on Easter Sunday had increased from ]!)0 in I!K},S to 2.34 this year. Confirmations had totalled -20 and baptisms :!!). Diliiculties had been experienced at Orakei owing to the lack of church accommodation, but the Sunday school had grown rapidly and now had an attendance of over 30. Three seats on the vestry were reserved for the Kohimarama district and one for Orakei. Mr. J. W. Carr was reappointed auditor. ST. ANDREW'S. LAST YEAR REVIEWED. Definite progress during the past year is recorded in the annual report of St. Andrew's Church, Epsom, presented at a meeting of parishioners. There was a fair attendance at the annual meeting of the Holy Trinity Church held in the Parish Hall, Otahuhu, on Tuesday night, the vicar, the Rev. R. J. Ktanton, presiding. A statement of account* showed the parish to be in a sound financial position, reductions on debts having been effected in all instances. The year's work had been completed with a credit balance of £20 1/4. The vicar informed the meeting that the vicarage with all the adjoining sections bad been sold, and with a view to providing a residence close to the church a property in Mason Avenue had been acquired. It was the intention of the vestry to proceed with the erection of the new vicarage as soon as possible. The following officers were elected: Vicar's warden, Mr. G. McDell; people's warden, Mr. C. B.
