Softly creeps the shadowy night, Silently clouds float small and light,' The golden moon shines o'er the land, The moonlit sea laps o'er the sand. • One by one the stars do peep, One by one the birds- do sleep, The silver trees sway with the wind, And peace oe earth our Load doth find;
