EFFORTS TO SAVE MONEY. SOUTH AFRICAN ESTIMATES. (From Our Own correspondent.) CAPETOWN, April 5. The Union Government's estimates of expenditure for the year which begins in April cull a 'halt to the great increase in expenditure in recent years. They show, indeed, the slight saving ot £72.1100 on the expenditure for last year. The estimates amount to ;C42,s2(UMiO. There id a decrease in the agriculture votes of £940.000. Of this, £300,000 is saved because the Government will not have to repeat its contribution for utabHisinjr *h< , l' riee °* bread.
