SOUTHERN THAMES REMITS. DELEGATES FOR CONFERENCE. (From Onr Own Correspondent.) MORRIXSVH.LE, Tuesday. Branches of the New Zealand Farmers' L'nion throughout the Piako County were represented at the annual meeting last evening at Morrinsville of the Southern Thames sub-provincial executive of the union. Mr. E. Palliser presided. Officers were elected as follows: — President. Mr. K. Palliser (Sprincrdale) • vice-president. Mr. C. Cate* (Morrinsville); delegates to Auckland Provincial Conference, Messrs. A. Vicker« (Xgarua). A. H. Coonibe (Springdale), K. Western (Te Aroha), ('. Catee, R. A. S. Browne, W. Taverner. M. E. Harrowclough (Morrinaville); substitute delegate, Mr. F. K. Thomas. Mr. Palliser wilfcontinue as a member of the Auckland Provincial Executive. Remits to go before the Auckland conference of the union later in the month were diecussed. Among thoee approved were the following:—

"That provision be made in the rules of the Xew Zealand Farmere' Union for life membership of branches and subprovinces. That this conference favours the introduction of compulsory military training in New Zealand. That the Department of Agriculture be asked to make an investigation of the incidence of tuberculosa in dairy cows, with a view to effecting an improvement."
