As the result of police advice to the German Consular authorities after the Labour Day procession had passed the Consulate, the swastika flag was hauled down from in front of the Consulate. Hostile shouts had come from marchers in the procession and feeling ran high among the bystanders. Additional police were stationed directly beneath the flag.
