SILVBR QUEX'S EFFORT. EL MEYNELL IMPROVING. Rain fell overnight, but it was fine till the breakfast interval at Kllerslie this morning, when it set in again and continued till after the work was completed. No. 3 grass track was open tor fast work, but the going was holding. First (Jold Money (Gilchrist) impressed more than Bronze Emerald (Cammick) over half a mile in 51s, the first furlong taking 12 3-ss. Trevace (Sargent) and Aero Queen (Cammick) ran hve furlongs in l.fi 3-5. Bonny belle (Gilchrist) was hitting out well while running half a mile in sls. She handled the going in good style. Fleetwind (Gilchrist) occupied 53s for a similar task, Waitarma (Tonks), who went with her, taking 56 2-ss. Aero King (Sargent), after covering two furlongs in 265, took 1.6 2-5 for five. Silver Quex (Gilchrist), ran half a mile in 49 3-5s —the best of the morning over the* distance. Tooley Street (Sargent) and Miss Appellant (Gemmell) covered six furlongs in 1.18 4-5, after traversing the first three furlongs in 37 l-ss. Tybalt (Gilchrist) was given a similar task, taking 1.17 4-5. He -worked, well. Melvanui (Coon) completed a round in 1.45 1-5. Elise (Sargent) came home with him over the last five furlongs which took 1.6 2-5. King Musk (Coon), after running three furlongs in 38 4-ss. got to the end of six in 1.20, and Electric Flash (Ritchie) went a round in 1.49 2-5, the last six furlongs in 1.23 4-5. El Meynell (Markwick) covered half a mile in 50 l-ss, and Royal Ace (Brucel and Right Royal (Simons I six furlongs in 1.19 2-5. There uax nothing between them at the finish. Summary (Bruce) was also sent furlongs, taking 1.21. Beeswing (Kerr) covered half a mile in 55 3-ss, while Tea Gong (Fergus) and Iniperator (Cammick) occupied 545. All Irish (McGrath) impressed more than Black Marlin (Cammick) over a round in 1.46 1-5, the last six furlongs in 1.23 1-5. Varmint (Fergus) and Jonathan (Cammick) finished in front of Rajanva (Sargent) at the end of six furlongs in 1.20 1-5. Bisquit (McGrath) ran four furlongs in 54s and Boy Lu (Sargent) five furlongs in 1.10. On the sand Royal Appellant (Nolan) ran his last seven furlongs in 1.36 1-5. Tooley Street, Miss Appellant and Royal Ace leave for Hawera at the beginning of next week to fulfil engagements at the Egmont meeting. TIDAL CHANGES HANDS. The stallion Tidal lias been purchased from Mr. R. T. Reid, of Hamilton, by Mr. .T. T. Crawford, of Waiuku, and will stand next season at his new owner's property in the Waiuku district. Tidal, [ who was bred in France, has sired some useful horses, including Flood Tide. King Neptune, Tidewaiter, Lustral and Nereus. IN THE RIGHT ORDER. The Kllerslie trainer .T. C. Lambess has Golden Spahi in the right order for winter ■lacing. The chestnut gelding is in his element when the ground is eoft. and should pay his way during the next few months. Golden Spahi is to contest the Papakura Hurdles at the Franklin meeting next Saturday, and his showing in that event-should be a useful guide concerning hie futur* prospects. VETERAN JUMPER IMPROVED. The racing that Adsum had at Whangarei did him good and he lias been putting plenty of dash into his work since. There are few better jumpers than Adsum in commission, and he will only need to train on as at present in order to pay liisi way in cross-country events. He has been paid up for in the Onewhero Steeplechase to be run at Pukekohe next Saturday.
