FARMERS' UNION.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DARG AVILLE, this day. The annual meeting of the DargavilleArapohue branch of the Farmers' Union elected the following officers:— President, Mr. W. J. Begg (Arapohue); vice-president, Mr. A. F. Cates; committee, Messrs. F. W. Hill, J. R. Batford. F. Crawford, J. Appleton, S. A. Downey, E. S. P. Young and J. Dodd; secretary, Mr. F. Seerdegan. It was decided that any proposal for an increase in the cartage rates be strongly opposed and that a resolution to this effect be forwarded to the Master Carriers' Federation.
