Cocoa is obtained from the cacao shrub. Yet the word "cocoa" is applied to the product of the cacao shrub and the cocoanut, or fruit of the palm tree. Many people think that both the nut and the "nibs" have the same source; similarity of sound causes a complete misapprehension.
